CPR Launches Third Video in Stop-and-Frisk Human Impact Series, featuring story of NYPD Officer

#WhereIamGoing Officer Polanco QuoteOn Tuesday, October 8, 2013, Communities United for Police Reform released in both English and Spanish the third video in the #WhereIAmGoing video series, which highlights the human impact of the NYPD’s discriminatory and abusive stop-and-frisk policies. The third video highlights the story of Officer Adhyl Polanco, an immigrant from the Dominican Republic and long-time resident of Washington Heights, whose dream of becoming an NYPD officer to serve his community has been challenged as he started facing pressure to conduct stops and arrests without any evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The release of the videos on the website WhereIAmGoing.org coincides with an online social media campaign to change the public dialogue on stop-and-frisk abuses, discriminatory policing and real solutions to promote and maintain community safety.
