Endorse the #SaferNYAct

By completing the form below, you are expressing your organization's endorsement of the Safer New York Act — a package of bills in the New York State Legislature that would help increase police transparency and accountability throughout New York state. The Safer New York Act includes the Police Statistics and Transparency (STAT) Act,  codifying and strengthening the Special Prosecutor executive order, reducing Unnecessary Arrests for low-level, ticketable offenses, repealing the NYS police secrecy law (50-a), and legalizing marijuana with related reinvestments in communities most harmed by prohibition.

What does it mean to endorse the #SaferNYAct?

Endorsing means that your organization will be listed on the CPR website and in public materials related to the Safer New York Act. Your organization will be part of the #SaferNYAct coalition that CPR coordinates, and will receive email updates about the campaign to pass the Safer New York Act. As an endorsing organization, you can show your support by:

  • Mobilizing for campaign events & actions
  • Encouraging your members to contact their New York State legislators to urge passage of the #SaferNYAct
  • Sharing information on social media
  • Reaching out to your networks to encourage others to endorse these critical reforms

We ask that each organization designate 1-2 representatives as your main contacts for the #SaferNYAct coalition.

As the primary contact, you are authorizing your organization's endorsement of the Safer New York Act, including granting permission for Communities United for Police Reform to list your organization's name in public materials, including but not limited to the website, social media and print materials. Both the primary and secondary contacts for your organization will be added to an endorsers list serv to receive information and updates about the campaign.
